Choc-orange keto bliss balls


These chocolate-orange energy balls are packed with nuts, paired with dates, and seasoned with orange, cocoa, and cinnamon. They are an exceptional snack/dessert at any time of year, but especially delicious at Christmas. Walnuts, dates, orange sprinkles, and cinnamon give it the flavour profile of Christmas pudding. Delicious!


Although the main ingredients in this formula are nuts, I am frequently asked for nut-free alternatives for my recipes.

As a result, I modified the recipe by substituting oatmeal for the walnuts.

I noticed that the oatmeal formed a very dry ball, owing to the lack of fat from the nut expulsion. Regardless, when I reduced the volume of oatmeal to 1/2 cup (90g), the balls held together beautifully and tasted fantastic.

If necessary, add a small amount of dried coconut or coconut oil to the ball to bring more fat to the surface.

Medjool Dates – These are not the dried dates regularly found in the baking segment of the grocery store. They are a new organic product, released to the palm of the people.   • The dates we use in these chocolate orange balls are Medjool dates. These are new dates, accessible from the greengrocer or leafy food segment of the general store. They are not the dry assortment that you find in the store’s baking path.
  • After mixing the mixture, take a small amount, press it between your fingers to check if it tends to form balls. If the combination is excessively brittle, add a little more squeezed orange to bind it together.

For the bliss balls:

  • 1 cup (220 g) Medjool dates
  • 1 cup (150g) raw cashews
  • 1/4 cup (30g) cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons white chia seeds
  • 2 teaspoons orange zing
  • 2 tablespoons of squeezed orange

To coat the balls of happiness:

Cooking mode

  • Stop your screen from turning off.
  • Dates should be washed, dried, and the seeds removed.
  • Typically, you chop the dates and add them to the bowl of a food processor along with the cashews, cocoa powder, chia seeds, squeezed orange, and sparkle and wonder until the fixings are fully attached.
  • Make sure the mixture is sufficiently soaked to allow you to move in balls. If not, add a little more squeezed orange and mix again.
  • Take about a teaspoon of the mixture, roll it into small plates, and top with the remaining cocoa powder.
  • Refrigerate in a tightly sealed container.

INSTRUCTIONS for storage

These balls are ideal for keeping in the fridge, freeze in a solitary layer before moving them to a waterproof compartment. They taste amazing straight out of the fridge.
