Ingredients (Serves 6–8)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup milk (room temperature)
- ¼ cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
- 1 large egg (room temperature)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the Batter
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix the milk, oil (or melted butter), egg, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until smooth and lump-free.
- Prepare the Pan
- Grease a 6-inch round or square cake pan that fits your air fryer basket. Pour the batter evenly into the pan.
- Bake in the Air Fryer
- Preheat your air fryer to 160°C (320°F) for 3 minutes.
- Place the cake pan in the air fryer basket. Cook for 25–30 minutes.
- Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick in the center. If it comes out clean, the cake is ready.
- Cool the Cake
- Once cooked, let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Serve or Decorate
- Enjoy the cake as is, or frost it with your favorite icing, such as buttercream or whipped cream.
